Vilnius Gediminas Technical University, Vilnius Academy of Arts, Lithuania

I am currently lecturing at the Faculty of Architecture in Vilnius Gediminas Technical University and Interior Design Department in Vilnius Academy of Arts (Lithuania), and working on a monograph “Už miesto, miške” to be published in 2023 by LAPAS. I hold a PhD from University of Lisbon (Portugal) for a thesis entitled ‘Embodying paradise: silent cities and sacred groves on the margins of Europe’. The research focused on canonical and non-canonical Catholic cemeteries in Lithuania and in Portugal, their relation to pagan mythology and Catholic imaginaries of afterlife spaces. Besides, I am a co-author of two books on traditional Lithuanian culture. In my previous projects I explored handmade as a tool of empowerment, worked in few architecture offices, developed art work for music albums and co-authored a short film ‘Et in Arcadia Ego’.
