Ontario Association of Cemetery and Funeral Professionals

Founded in 1913, the Ontario Association of Cemetery and Funeral Professionals (OACFP) is a non-profit provincial association established in Ontario, Canada. Initially known as the Ontario Association of Cemeteries, its primary purpose was to facilitate the exchange of ideas and information among cemeterians in Ontario, ensuring high professional standards and excellent customer service. In 2003, in response to evolving consumer preferences, the Ontario Government replaced The Cemeteries Act and The Funeral Director Establishments Act with the Funeral, Burial and Cremation Services Act 2002, enhancing consumer choice and protection. The OACFP adapted by broadening its membership to include funeral providers and various bereavement sector professionals and associations. Committed to its century-old mission, the OACFP remains dedicated to fostering communication and education within the deathcare industry. The website contains information on training and events.
